I just bumped into a neighbour who knew I’d been on hols for a few days. ‘ I bet it feels like you never went away, now’. She said.
I knew where she was coming from.. but it couldn’t have been further than the truth.
Those days, I felt deeply. The times I shared with such a lovely friend were the absolute best. The most glorious ( and most expensive risotto I’ve ever had in my life – which I was treated to) are not moments to dismiss when your other life kicks back in. In fact, we had three days of ladies who lunch, there was no way she’d let me pay. How amazing is that? To find an authentic soul who wishes to give you the best experience ever. I thank you, Milton.

We had a blast. In the UK, we would say we were ‘spoilt rotten’. But that may not translate well overseas. Take it from me it is a positive.
We are home now, and the heatwave here is more intense than down on the southwest coast. But hey, I’ll keep washing those dogs’ blankets and get the duvet aired daily as long as I can. In a few months’ time, I am sure I will complain that it’s getting a bit chilly. But hey, that’s what islanders do.
