Who? What? Where? When? Why? and How?

What are you curious about?

Curious moi? You bet! About absolutely everything.

A previous ( or previously? Mmm…  must have been off school that day) prolonged nomadic existence and a love of documentaries. Of portraits in art and photography. In auto/ biographies.

Amongst many other things, I enjoy streaming shows depictingย  surgery and complex medical procedures.Missing persons, major crime, and smuggling…. I watched a Dispatches doc the other night about car theft. It was so interesting and informative….Search, rescue, and recovery. True crime and crime dramas from the UK or overseas. Causes of death, the pathology, forensic investigations/ sciences. Bring it on. A few hours of this leaves me chilled and always having learnt something. My fascination is in the details. So often inย  awe.

Observing, understanding, and learning. I am sure it is healthy to be curious. Do you?

It’s the little things

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

‘ A random act of kindness’ That doesn’t sit well with me. ‘ A’ just the one? Okay then, yesterday an elderly lady at an ATM dropped her walking stick. I picked it for her. She smiled and said thank you..

Fact is random acts of kindness aren’t things you talk or write about, are they? You just do them, naturally, without thinking too much about it. An impulse, an innate want to make the world a better place for someone, if only for a minute. Don’t you think?

China to invade Taiwan?

Word is China is threatening to invade Tawain. Great! Xi Jinping joining the swinging dicks of the world who’s ego is sure to back fire at some stage.

Can China even afford to invade ?  Can’t they just leave it be? After 76 years, Tawain has done alright for itself.

The World Bank recognises its high income economy. They have a thriving global electronics trade. Considerable foreign investment and an astute gov planning to  name but a few pluses. Oh, let’s not forget they have copper, gold, and abundant marble.

The Taiwanese enjoy a low crime rate, a democracy and enjoy their nationalism.

They scored 38 out of 40 for political rights and 56 out of 60 for civil liberties. They are not going to give up without a fight, surely?

Black Bear is the national animal of Taiwan. Beautiful

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?

‘ The world is full of painful stories. Sometimes it seems as though there aren’t any other kind, and yet I found myself thinking how beautiful that glint of water was through the trees’

Octavia Butler ( 1947~2006)

5’6 and 10st 3lbs ….that’s all you’re getting WP ….you can have dark green eyes, too. …..I have two ๐Ÿ˜†

Not a traditional family

What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?

There is only one thing that stays in my mind regarding a family tradition…

Ham and eggs for Christmas breakfast.

Many of you will be familiar with the  children’s  little piggy rhyme ( the original wording appearing in 1728) A counting song for babies and infants played out on their fingers or toes..

This little piggy went to market

This little piggy stayed at home

This little piggy had roast beef

And this little piggy had none..

Thing is, it wasn’t until fairly recently I believed the piggy that went to market had gone shopping… ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Hey. Thought I’d give you gorgeous peeps a Heads Up. I’m keen to up my content, but I feel it may just bore most of you rigid.

Simply observations and daily thoughts, which will probably be of no interest ๐Ÿค” . I need the practice.ย

WordPress Press School beckons and as the kids everywhere will all be back to studies soon, it’s probably a good time to join them.

As you will have gathered, tech isn’t my strong point. What I would give to be up there with the computer sciences. It’s not going to happen. But I can give it a go.

Consider yourselves warned ๐Ÿ˜†

Re today’s Daily Promp..It’s the little things in life

I was all set for a ‘ typical’ day, which was a bit silly to start with -Just shows us how we take this living thing for granted.

A minor tech issue ( not so minor in my world) set the day off a bit differently. No, that’s not entirely true His Nibs allowed me to sleep until about 6.30am. ( After getting us both up in the night by whining to go out. A gap in the fence has recently appeared, so heavens only knows what had managed to slither through. It’s cat central round here, so maybe Reggie from down the street was in for a mooch about? Yes, he could have come over the fence, but that’s cats for you.

In most people’s books tech issues are not issues. A simple adjustment and everything is cool.Thing is at Primary we had one small TV in the whole school. Wheeled into the classroom on a tall trolley, from the Visual Aids Room. Soo, digital is not second nature, sadly.

Anyways I got to grips with that and heard the letterbox rattle. There on the mat was one of those plastic bags from a charity saying they would be round our way on Friday. Funny that as I had hoping one would come my way as I had a few bits and bobs already to go, in a bag by the door. Perfect!

Because of said tech issue we were late going out. That was a lucky thing as I saw someone I hadn’t seen for a very long time and I had wanted to touch base. Another tick, perfect.

I drove us up to a lovely green space we enjoy going to. Patch surveyed the estate and got back in the car without having to be bribed. Tick, perfect.

Bouyed up by a positive vibe I fed us and then went out the front to tidy up a bit. Did an hour or so and now I’m very pleased with myself. Tick perfect.

And it’s not even noon yet.

Recently I was reading about how time passes faster as you age. You’d think it would slow down a bit, wouldn’t you? All thinks considered. I agree time goes by in a flash and tbh it’s a bit freaky when you’re not quite ready for it.

Still not quite noon and the morning so far has allowed me to do quite a lot of stuff. Funny that.

Oh no!

Was today typical?

I was about to write that it was a bit early to assess if today was typical as it has only just gone 7am.

However, WP has thrown me a curve ball and now I see the text is white on a black background. So no, today is not typical.

How hard can it be to reverse it? Simples eh? Err not so much.

I will revisit this post when I have it sorted…and have had a shower, taken Patch out for his morning constitutional, given him his breakfast, fed the birds, had my breakfast….

Edit…but when I come to view the content all seems well with the world and everything is back to normal.

Edit..Edit…All sorted!

Perhaps I won’t revisit to add content to this page ..As the day hasn’t been typical so far..and that’s what DP asked.

Oh, and it’s raining. That’s not typical of late. But hey that OK, I’m a Pluviophile ๐Ÿ˜†

Have a good day all x

Edit, edit, edit…. perhaps I’ll just bin the post altogether and start again in a while..

Snookered

So, here I am sitting on the sofa. All the windows and doors are open and July ’25 is nearing the end.

‘ Why is she telling us this?’ I hear you.

Fact is Patch has decided to take his morning nap early and is asleep on my arm. Obviously I am now unable to move. I can’t possibly get up and do the chores and disturb Himself. I can’t reach my coffee, going cold in the mug on my side table. But I do have a lifeline, my tablet.

I’ve completed the Daily Prompt, looked through Reader. Checked out posts by my favourites ( sorry, I know, we shouldn’t have favourites..but here we are). I’ve exercised some grey matter. Depressed myself reading through the Sky News app. Picked dog hairs off my top. Exercised my ankles. Wondered what I shall eat next and become concerned it may start raining and the washing I put out to dry a couple of hours ago is going to get wet. Oh yes, and i’ve relived our lovely walk this morning which revealed Autumn waiting in the wings. The blackberry bush was showing signs of a healthy crop to -be and the apples on the trees were looking good too..and that had me thinking about custard.

No, I will not open the door to Autumn just yet, but I know it’s there, waiting quietly for its turn. There is still some summer left to enjoy and hopefully on that note the breeze will blow away the clouds and there will be warmth enough in the sun to dry my clothes. Rock n roll. How exciting is my life, eh?

The postman disturbed said dog, so whilst he goes ballistic at the front door, I’m free to get up and get on with my day…Maybe a cup of fresh coffee is in order?
