I’ll be ready when the time comes

Which is the best thing to do in your city?

At this moment in time, we live rural-side, Patch n me. Although I’m city girl and central London does feel like my spiritual home, exploring any city really isn’t up there on my to-do list right now.

I sincerely love cultural attractions, especially in the arts, but for now, I’m still getting to grips with and appreciating the stillness and freedom of retirement.

It’s taking a while, and maybe that’s a reflection on just how long the slog has been? Some folk on retirement want to get out there and do the things life had restricted them from doing? I get that, totally.

But I’m coming from this from the other end. I’ve got the tee shirt and I’ll go with that until the time presents itself that it’s time for change.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

WP, maybe if you had asked where you would like to see yourself in 10 years. You seem to forget we can’t even predict tomorrow, this afternoon.

But I get your drift 😏 and I think this is best answered by the younger bloggers amongst us. Their visions and dreams have some scope there.

Moi? Still happy and healthy in my own skin. Sharing my life with a cat or dog. Just going about my life pretty much as I am now. That would be cool.

A huge lottery win would be fabulous, and I could do a lot with that, to keep me busy, or not.

Isn’t she lovely?

Failing that I’ll be OK just doing what I’m doing.

How do you want to retire?

There are many components to retirement living. Ideally all your ducks will be in a row and life will go swimmingly. ….I’ve written down some thoughts which I feel may contribute to a happy time ….They will not be in any particular order….I leave that for you to decide on and add to yourselves.

Maybe most of us would concede that good physical and mental health would lay a solid foundation for retirement?
