What is the best excuse you have heard lately?

Thing is, I don’t have myself down as a liar, not even a fib..but about an hour ago, I saw two traffic wardens in front of me on the pavement turn right.

Right towards my car.

I hadn’t checked the parking limit and thinking it may be 30 minutes (and I’d probably been out and about for at least an hour) ..on the spur of a moment, without a second thought I managed to come up with the excuse of having had to stop and help an elderly lady who had fallen over. Thus making me late.

Turns out they were by their own car by then. Possibly at the end of their shift, were unrobing and getting ready to leave.

I’m a little bit alarmed that off the top of my head, I had thought of something to say. So quickly, I mean.

Turns out the parking spot was free for three hours…

Edit…The rapid arrival of Karma. When I got home I trapped my thumb in the car door…boo hoo. And just this minute caught the same thumb  in the fridge door. Enough already!
